Dude…thank you…I’m a graphic designer and i can’t draw for shit…I’ve

the hidden particulars of the craft. Keep up the great work!

Jacob McNeilly says:

I really enjoy intense detail when hatching with pen but get frustrated due
to the lack of quality of some pens I use. Yes, unfortunately I use generic
pens you could find in packs of 100 for a couple bucks… If I wanted to
invest in quality pens for detailed hatching what brand/make would you
suggest?

A.N.T. Bhatti says:

1st rule i learned.. There’s no shortcut. 😛

RLS0812 says:

“Marker” or “felt tip” …. not “pen”

Hi Alphonso, Great Video, i just have a question about this video, i´m
using different points on STAEDTLER Pigment Liner (NO MICRON where i live
and hard to find points different than 0.2 0.4 and 0.8 in staedtler, (they
come in a set) ) I CAN´T get the texture on ANY of the cubes, is it that i
have to practice more or should i get somewhere those MICRON? when i finish
everything is just a black box, no texture at all.
Thank you very much for your videos!!

school. You inspire me.

Hey, I seem to be having trouble with my drawing. My only major complaint
with myself is anatomy and other dynamic poses. See, I can draw regular
poses like from the front, I just have this issue with perspective with
anatomy. Seeing how I want to draw comics, this poses an issue. Any decent
books that could touch on this issue and help me improve?

Did some training on the wood and fur, guess I do smth wrong because it
doesn’t look as good as yours, Mr. Dunn (maybe I overrender?). I’m using a
g-pen and a small brush with cheap 1$ ink (found such set to be a golden
mean between price and effect I can get between cheap 1/3 $ writing pen and
set of sakura pens – maybe I’ll use them when my drawings will be worth the
pricet). Advice to improve texture appreciated, thanks)

Bảo Trân says:

For over sixty years I had the idea that if I couldn’t immediately make
something look the way I wanted to, I couldn’t draw. Thank goodness for
YouTube and people who are sharing ways to PRACTICE and improve my
drawing. I have always had a desire to draw — now I have a reason to
draw, and with your tutorials I am learning the WAY to draw. Can’t thank

Truth Monger. says:

I hate repetition. I hate repetition. I hate repetition. I’m sorry. I
couldn’t help it. But seriously I’m new to your fine channel and I was
wondering. If you were doing this in pencil, would you do anything
different and what pencils would you use? I don’t even know if you use
pencils. I’m trying to make out what kind of pen you are using, but then I
think “Is that the pen for me” I mean you’re a pro.(or you should be). Also
the way you draw with a pen ,with no erase. MAN you are one brave dude.I
could always draw (not like you)but I never took it seriously. That ends now
thanks to people like you. : ) Please reply.

austin sharrett says:

Mr. Dunn, what should I have in my basic art kit? I have been drawing for a
while now, maybe a year and a half with only a mechanical pencil and an
eraser. I can only do so much with them. Maybe that’s me not having the
skill to do the things i think other tools can do, I don’t know. My
sketches are excellent compared to the ones I did when I started, and I’ve
really improved, but I feel I can do more with other tools in my drawings
but I’m not sure what I should have exactly. I was wondering if you could
help me out and tell me what the average artist would have.

Mondwell H says:

this was pretty fun to do and i learned a lot…i draw in black all the
time so i can use this information…my fur didn’t come out as good as
yours did though!!!

jeremy cunningham says:

You didn’t really show much value on the texture, you where just shading
the sides of a box. Your textures are still flat because you where not
adding any value to the texture, just the box. You can just cross hatch
over a “texture” and expect it to come off realistic.

Med Mahogany says:

Hi Alphonso, where i can see your work on internet?? you are Amazing and
you inspire me.
