I had a request for a video of how to draw using letters. So here it is. These lessons are for small kids who have a hard time visualizing a drawing. It helps kicks start them so that they can feel the satisfaction of creating an image from something totally unexpected. Hope you enjoy. Cheers.

Donald Paul Benjamin says:

As a fellow teaching artist, I strongly agree with Alex’s approach of using
letters and numbers to kick-start beginning artists. Freehand writing of
familiar letters/numbers, then adding shapes and lines by hand, helps
children unlock their creativity. Such freehand work may also help student
learning in significant ways. A recent New York Times article (“What’s
Lost as Handwriting Fades,” Science Times, Section D-1) suggests that
handwriting (print and cursive) helps students do better in reading and
thinking. By association, freehand drawing probably also contributes to
positive brain development. Keep up the good work. By the way, I’m
curious to know what software/hardware you are using for your very well
done presentation. Thanks
